Session Descriptions & Outcomes

Session 1: “Automotive Internal Auditing”

Learn about the different types of audits required by IATF 16949:2016 and a process-based framework for planning and conducting Automotive audits. Apply risk-based thinking to selecting, scoping and scheduling Automotive internal audits.

Outcome: Use Quistem’s process-based framework to develop your Automotive Internal Auditor competency development audit plan.

Session 2: “Automotive System Audits”

Recognize key processes of your organization’s Automotive QMS to plan and conduct system audits, weaving in the use of Automotive core tools and Automotive customer-specific requirements.

Outcome: Plan and conduct a system audit of your organization’s Automotive QMS based on ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016, Automotive core tools and Automotive customer-specific requirements.

Session 3: “Manufacturing Process Audits – Part 1”

Gain an understanding in the application of PFMEA and Control Plan for risk management of your organization’s manufacturing operations focused on assessment of special characteristics. Recognize the application of customerspecific requirements to control of your operations.

Outcome: Plan and conduct your first manufacturing process audit to evaluate risk and operational controls.

Session 4: “Manufacturing Process Audits – Part 2”

Evaluate effectiveness of specific operational controls using Layered Process Audits, (LPA), and AIAG Special Process assessments. Learn how SPC and MSA can demonstrate process conditions.

Outcome: Plan and conduct your 2nd manufacturing process audit using LPA, special process assessments, gathering evidence of SPC and MSA.

Session 5: “Automotive Product Auditing”

Understand how to interpret product design records and the application of control plans, SPC and MSA for conducting product evaluations to ensure customer requirements are met.

Outcome: Plan and conduct a product audit in your organization, focused on understanding of evaluation technique and confirmation of customer requirements.

Session 6: “Automotive Launch Readiness Audits”

Learn how to support your organization’s APQP process through the application of launch readiness audits, (including APQP stage-gate audits, VDA 6.3 audits and PPAP review).

Outcome: Plan and conduct a launch readiness audit including confirmation of customer-specific requirements.

Session 7: “Automotive Customer-initiated Audits”

Automotive internal auditing can be applied in exceptional cases to manage customer satisfaction. Learn how to conduct containment/controlled shipping audits and audits to evaluate the effectiveness of 8Ds/corrective actions.

Outcome: Plan and conduct an internal audit for a recent customer complaint or internal product quality issue.

ISO 9001:2015 INTERNAL AUDITOR UPDATE VIRTUAL RETREAT

Prepare your internal audit team to support evaluation of your QMS to the new ISO 9001:2015 requirements. Learn how to overcome the unique challenges of auditing your organization’s QMS with limited documentation.

Outcome: Internal auditors qualified to audit your QMS to ISO 9001:2015 requirements.

IATF 16949:2016 AUDITOR UPDATE VIRTUAL RETREAT

Your internal audit team will develop competency in applying the automotive process-approach to auditing your Automotive QMS based on the IATF 16949:2016 requirements. Requirements for automotive internal and 2nd party auditing will be reviewed as well as system, manufacturing process and product audit planning and execution.

Outcome: IInternal auditors qualified to audit your Automotive QMS to IATF 16949:2016 requirements.

Session 8: “Graduation and Intro to 2nd party Auditing”

Congratulations! You now have developed key competencies needed to successfully audit your organization’s Automotive QMS and meet IATF 16949:2016 requirements. Review your auditor portfolio, sharing your lessons learned. Expand your auditing skills to include 2nd party supplier audits.

Outcome: Completion of Automotive Internal Auditor Competency portfolio and Knowledge Check; plan for conducting a 2nd party audit of one of your organization’s Automotive suppliers.
